Why is it so hard to just, 'be real' someitmes?

Why is it so hard to just, 'be real' sometimes?

For a long time now, the concept of 'being real' has been ever important to my heart and soul.. The older I am and the more life experience I gain, even more I crave genuine interactions and authenticity. It has been a heart breaking realization that for whatever reasons - be it the age of social media, a culture of show, or peoples inate need to be loved; whatever it is that drives people to be something other than genuine. And I myself am guilty of it for my own reasons - sometimes to try and 'fit in', to 'have friends', to 'be social', to 'meet social expectations and standards'... But whatever excuses I make or reasons I get sucked in, I do sometimes. I think that breaks my heart the most, when I comprimes not only something I so strongly believe in, but that in the process I feel like I de-value the value that He - the King of Kings, has put on me. Because really, HE saved me and created ME for a purpose. When the creator of the universe stepped down to Earth as the man, Christ Jesus, he came to demonstrate his love for me.  Romans 5:8 in the ESV says,  " but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us"So, if I am THAT important to God loved me so much that he sent is only son, Jesus, to die for me, so he could have a personal relationship with - why then do I still find myself ashamed of myself - HIS belvoed?

So I re-challenge myself, to be who HE created me to be, and search more for HIS approval, rather than the approval of my fellow humans. Galatians 1:10 is one of my favourite verses that got me through the challenges of high school, and now it's time to remind myself of the truth that hasn't changed. "For am Io not seeking the aproval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of God [ESV]". Another version I read once reads, "Am I now trying to win the aproval of man or of God?".. While we don't have to win over God's heart, because he already loves us like crazy, if I were to look at my actions, what are my motives? Whose heart/s am I trying to win? Do those actions seek the aproval of my fellow man, or of my Saviour?

So Loved means ME. It means YOU too! xx Live loved.
